THE Slightly AMAZING RACE

The Slightly Amazing Race was held in Blenheim ... (20kb) ... and most of our team members ... (29kb) ... travelled ... (31kb) ... in a van ... (18kb)
... picking up others on the way. (29kb) We had a meal at Havelock ... (36kb) ... and met the others in Blenheim. (33kb) First we sorted ... (31kb)
... our two teams ... (30kb) and prepared ... (30kb) ... the balloons and hats to differentiate the teams ... (30kb) ... before having a relaxing cuppa. (17kb)
Our first team was the Holy Orange Trinitarians ... (27kb) ... or HOT ... (31kb) ... while the second team ... (24kb) ... was the Mad Hatters. (35kb)
Steve Maina and family were our special guests. (33kb) We raced off to a neighbouring building for our first activity ... (25kb) ... where we sorted cards by language, money and countries ... (28kb) ... and then we constructed a building ... (30kb)
... before racing off to the next activity. (30kb) There we demonstrated our translation skills. (27kb) Then we read the instructions .. (21kb) ... about the Jungle Journey Maze. (14kb)
Next off again to another neighbouring building ... (34kb) ... to design and make ... (26kb) ... a costume and footwear ... (19kb) ... out of newspaper. (17kb)
After that we demonstrated ... (28kb) ... how to do a jig-saw. (25kb) Then off again to (42kb) ... a gross food tasting test ... (23kb)
... before heading off again ... (23kb) ... to build a similar tower ... (12kb) ... while blindfolded. (24kb) Finally we returned to the main hall ... (22kb)
... to complete some Brain Teasers, and ... (24kb) ... Steve Mmaina, CMS Gen Sec shared his passion for Mission. (15kb) This was followed by a Silent Auction ... (15kb) ... and the announcement of the competition winners ... (18kb)
... with our HOT team winning the building activity. (16kb) Finally Bishop Richard presented the Bishop's Cup (not us). (19kb) Then it was back to the van ... (24kb) ... and home to Richmond after an enjoyable time. (25kb)
